Can you give two examples from the film as to why people stereotype?One way of stereotyping is race because you are judging someone by theircolour and not their personality.Another reason that people stereotype is because they don’t understandother people. For example, when the hoody groups are out and aboutpeople think they are going to mug someone.2. How does stereotyping damage people? Give one example from thedebate that we had.Stereotyping offends people and might cause them to do something thatthey shouldn’t. People will live up to this self-fulfilling prophecy.3. What ways did you pick out as to how people stereotype one another?The ways in which we stereotype are: gender (female and male), age, race,sexuality, looks, criminal history – judging people by their past.4. How does society encourage stereotyping?The media encourages stereotyping by printing false stories, producingprejudice and negative stories.5. Can we ever stop stereotyping?No but we can do this to help. For example, not letting riots happen sothe papers don’t pre-judge someone.6.
