Wonderful; so when will the guys be able to get their hands on a real mens smartphone? With almost every single smartphone on the market today sporting various design elements that are clearly intended to score points with the female crowd, some might be under the impression that the smartphone market is starting to experience a shift in target audience. After all, most ladies immediate priority when choosing a smartphone often has something to do with looking refined and sophisticated in front of their colleagues and peers. At least, that is until they start fiddling with their smartphones to find out how to perform the most basic of functions, since the instructional manual is always unceremoniously tossed out within the first six hours of the purchase. Still, it would seem odd that any OEM will attempt to put its revenues on the line by designing a smartphone that is meant to be used only the ladies, if only because the smartphone market is still fairly gender neutral at this point. Why? Well, simply becauseits an LGA-2011 part and these CPUs will end up in one or theother Xeon family depending on how many sockets the CPU DonanimHaber has leaked a series of information regardingsupports (4600 series for quad socket, 2600 series for dual AMDs upcoming FX (Bulldozer) and A (Llano) processors.socket). Performancelikely to be case here. benchmarks arent a novelty either - with previous leaks pegging FX 8 Core CPUs as 50% faster than current gen Phenom II X6 1100T. The new benchmarks are PCMark Vantage and 3DMark Vantage. In PCMark Vantage, the FX 8-Core CPU matches improves by ~30% over the Phenom II X6 1100T and matches the Core i7 2600K. We have in the past seen the PCMark Vantage to be less multi-threaded oriented, with the i7 2600K regularly edging out Gulftown 6-core CPUs. The same affects the A-Series quad core APUs which simply cant keep up with Intels dual core i3-2100 CPU.The CPU is labelled Q19D ES 1.60GHz which is again speakingvolumes for this being a Xeon CPU rather than a high-endconsumer desktop part. The information provided by the sellerclaims that this is an 8 core 16 thread part and the sameseller has offered a similar model, Q19J which is also a 1.6GHzpart, but presumably with 6 cores and 12 threads. The Q19Jpart is said to have 15MB L3 cache which sounds about right, although were not sure if these CPUs are for dual or quadsocket systems. As expected, the Llano APUs are very strong in 3D Mark Vantage, offering performance several times that of Core i3 2100, and even the i7 2600K. The entry level A4 APU is able to double the performance of the HD 2000 graphics integrated in i3 2100. Unusually, AMD have decided to add HD 6670s to the Phenom II X6 and FX 8-core configs, but not the competing i7 2600K platform, so the 3D Mark Vantage benchmarks proves to be a little meaningless for Bulldozer. Of course, consumers will hope that this means the FX 8100 will be priced lower than Core i7 2600K.
