The first cooler, baptized"Accelero Twin Turbo 6990", is a very powerful dual fan coolerdesigned especially for the AMD Radeon HD 6990. The secondproduct, the "Accelero S1 PLUS" is a universal, passive cooler. The company claims that their new Accelero Twin Turbo6990 is the most powerful VGA cooler ever. With two 120mmPWM controlled quiet fans and a cooling capacity of 400W itcertainly seems to be a very impressive product. On the other hand, the Accelero S1 PLUS is an entirely passive VGA cooler designed for maximum compatibility and absolute silence. Of course the latter is obvious, since there are no fans or any moving parts at all, while Arctic Cooling claims that this cooler can be mounted on over 80 different models of midrange to high-end cards. The cooler appears to be a good value at 49.95$ USD. By now youve probably figured out that performance should be slightly faster than the iPad 2 thanks to the slightly lower resolution screen (960x640 vs 1024x768). For the made of clear plastic with various patterns.starters, the Lifebook SH76/E comes with a Core i5-2520MCPU which is clocked at 2.5GHz but which will turbo all theway up to 3.2GHz. Theres space for a pair of SO-DIMMs andup to 8GB of RAM can be fitted, although it ships with 4GBas standard. • 18. October 5th, 2011 Published by: VR-Zone To begin with, this board seems to have six DDR3 DIMM slots. Thats an odd number, considering the Sandy Bridge- E processor embeds four DDR3 memory channels, and so motherboards should ideally either have four slots (one per channel), or eight (two per channel). As with all LGA2011 boards, the memory slots are arranged on either sides of the large 2011-pin socket. The CPU seems to be powered by at least an 8-phase VRM. Were able to count just one row of chokes on the VRM area north of the socket, there could be more rows. Interestingly, the FETs of the memory VRM seem to be cooled by heatsinks, as well. The last time we saw heatsinks over memory VRM was with Foxconn QuantumForce X58 boards. The heatsink cooling the X79 PCH (platform controller hub) is cooled by an active fan-heatsink. Active cooling, we think, is redundant. X79, unlike X58, is a single chip platform controller hub, with the northbridge completely relocated to the CPU package. A PCH is not much more than a glorifiedASRock Teases with X79 southbridge. Overclockers will seldom need to play with PCHExtreme7 Picture voltages. Besides, small fans can add to the case noise. The new handset will feature a curved screen and Samsung has already released a teaser video that shows little else but the curve. If you recall the Nexus S, Googles most recent own brand handset was made in co-operation with Samsung and its nearly a year since that was announced and with Google gearing up for yet another major revision of Android, its time for a new device to go with it. The screen is said to measure 4.65-inches and its a Super AMOLED HD display with a resolution of 1280x720. Were not quite sure it fits on the phone category any more with a screen this size, but it seems to be the only innovative feature to do these days with regards to the external appearance of the handsets. Were a little bit perplexed about the choice of processor, as the rumour suggests that the Nexus Prime will sport a 1.2GHz dual core TI OMAP 4460 SoC. Now this wouldnt be the first time Samsung would use an OMAP chip in one of its devices, but the Nexus S is using a Samsung Hummingbird SoC and we wouldve expected Google to continue that trend, but alas it seems like that isnt the case. Were also curious about the clock speed, as the OMAP 4460 is meant to run at 1.5GHz, but its possible that Samsung had to clock it down due to the thin 9mm profile of the handset. The OMAP 4460 sports PowerVR SGX540 graphics that should be clocked around 384MHz and the SoC supports dual channel LPDDR2 memory of which Samsung has apparently fitted 1GB. Its also said to feature 32GB of storage, much like some of its Galaxy S II models. Other features include a fairly unimpressive 5Megapixel camera that can shoot 1080p HD video, a front mounted 1.3Megapixel camera for video calls, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi (2.4/5GHz) and NFC support. Despite all the concerns about the PC industry and the general downturn once more in the economy, it looks like the PC industry is going strong, well, at least mostly so. According to the latest data from Gartner and IDC, the PC industry grew by between 3.2 and 3.6 percent in the third quarter this year and although this isnt much, we really need to take a closer look at the numbers to see whats going on. The big changes in the industry involves Lenovo taking over Dells number two spot and Asus moving up into the top five PC makers, ousting Toshiba. As such HP remains at the top spot, with Dell in third followed by Acer in fourth. But the important thing here is to look at the grown between the third quarter of this year and last year. Here we see HP with a 5.3 percent growth, slightly better than the average, whereas Lenovo has a massive growth of 36.1 percent with Asus closely behind with a 30.2 percent growth. Thisalso tells us that Asus notebooks are now more popularthan those from Toshiba which must be a big blow for theJapanese company which used to be one of the top notebookmanufacturers in the world. Lenovo has most likely gaineda lot of market share thanks to its more affordable Ideapadline of notebooks and lower-cost devices in the Chinesemarket, although its Thinkpad series is still plenty popularwith corporate users. Nvidia also took the opportunity to add some extra company branding to the new glasses, with a big silver logo on a green background. OneIf you dont succeed at first, try again seems to be Nvidias issue that doesnt appear to have been widely addressed oncemotto behind its 3D Vision glasses, as the company has again is the issue of those that wear glasses, as the new 3Dannounced its second generation of 3D Vision glasses simply Vision glasses dont seem to be any more comfortable to wearcalled 3D Vision 2. Then again, this is far from the second on top of a pair of glasses, although Nvidia claims that thegeneration, as over the years weve seen several attempts from adjustable nose pieces will make them more comfortable toNvidia where the company has tried to convince gamers that wear alongside a pair of regular glasses.they need 3D glasses to get the most out of their games and thecompany has also launched something of a flash back productin the shape of the 3D Vision wired glasses.Nvidia is saying that the new 3D Vision 2 glasses offer 20percent larger lenses and the company has added a new featurecalled LightBoost with turns up the screen brightness on LED3D displays to help combat the darkening effect of the activeshutters in the glasses. The most visible change though is ofcourse the new design, but its still very much a love or hatething. Nvidia has at least managed to shrink the bulk of thebattery pack compared to the original 3D Vision glasses, buthas at the same time ended up with thicker frames around theeyes and an overall bulkier design. Nvidia also offer a pair of wired 3D Vision glasses, although these were announced back in May, but we hadnt had a chance to see them in the "flesh" until now. They have a length of cable attached to the left arm and this has a small USB dongle with a single LED installed in it which will let you know if theyre working correctly or not. 8
