    • The shell-free egg or how to remove the shell of an unboiled egg
      • The idea is to use vinegar (acetic acid) to dissolve the calcium carbonate crystals that make the egg (just like vinegar can be used to remove hard water deposits)
      • Put an egg in a glass of vinegar
        • Preferably a cheap wine vinegar
      • Let it there for 3 days
        • you can remove the foam that will appear and fill up the glass as the level of vinegar decreases
        • It will not stink or produce anything unpleasant
      • Take it with care and pass it under water.
      • The shell will be no more than a thin whitish pellicle that you can take away rubbing gently the egg.
    • That is what you should get:

      • And if you go on, you obtain a shell-free egg.
      • The inside of the egg is intact, you can see the yellow part moving in it.
      • Without the shell, the egg can be compressed.
