framework, storage provisioning and management starts with
the VM, not with the storage resource or storage admin.
For each VM, the VI Admin determines the right amount of
capacity, performance and availability and sets those parameters
in the storage policy. Virtual SAN takes care of the rest by
matching those requirements with underlying storage
resources. Policies are then monitored and maintained through
SLAs, with the Virtual SAN system self-monitoring to maintain
service levels. This policy-based framework simplifies storage
