  • 1. Rs. 100
  • 2. A man came home from work late, tired andirritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting forhim at the door.
  • 3. “Daddy, may I ask you a question?”“Yes sure, what is it?” replied the man
  • 4. “Daddy, how much do you make an hour?”“that’s none of your business, why do youask such a thing?” the man said angrily.“I just want to know, please tell me, howmuch do you make an hour?” pleaded thelittle boy.
  • 5. “if you must know, I make Rs.100 an hour”“Oh,” the little boy replied, with his head down, looking up, he said,“dad, may I please borrow Rs.50?”
  • 6. The father was furious,“if the only reason you asked that is so youcan borrow some money to buy a silly toy orsome other nonsense, then you march yourselfstraight to your room and go to bed, thinkabout why you are being so selfish.”“I work long hard hours everyday and don’thave time for such this childish behavior.”
  • 7. The little boy quietly went to his room andshut the door. The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy’s questions.
  • 8. How dare he ask such questions only to get somemoney? After about an hour or so, he had calmed down, andstarted to think he may have been a little hard on his son.May be there was something he really needed to buywith that Rs.50 and he really didn’t ask for money veryoften.
  • 9. The man went to the door of the little boy’s room and opened thedoor.“are you asleep, son?” he asked.“no daddy, I’m awake” replied the boy.“I’ve been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier,” saidthe man.
  • 10. “It’s been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here’s the Rs.50 you asked for.”The little boy sat straight up, smiling. “Oh, thank youdaddy!” he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some moremoney.
  • 11. The man, seeing that the boy already had money, started toget angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, then looked upat his father.“Why do you want more money if you already have some?”the father grumble.
  • 12. “because I didn’t have enough, but now I do,” the littleboy replied.“daddy, I have Rs.100 now, can I buy an hour of yourtime? Please come home early tomorrow, I would liketo have dinner with you.”
  • 13. Share this story with someone youlike…..but even better, shareRs.100 worth of time withsomeone you love.
  • 14. Its just a short reminder to allof you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts.
