This being “on the fence” increases thenumber of possible good conferences you can apply to.Also, if your topic is very relevant for practitioners (oryou need to network with them) you might consider abusiness convention rather than an academic conference(but be aware of the limitations this might bring with itself)

Many conferences provide this session before theactual starting date and they often offer bursaries to attend the mainconference as well.2. Pick your conference also on thebasis of the location. Remember:networking is a funny activity as well!
