Xerox was founded in 1906 in
Rochester, New York.
Employees: 140,000 in 160 countries
Head Quarters: Norwalk, CT

5. Evolution
1906 The Haloid Photographic Company Manufactured photographic paper and
equipments.
1959: Introduced the first automatic plain paper
1958 - 1960 Haloid Xerox
photocopier.
1963:its first desktop plain paper copier.
1969: Laser printer.
1961- 1973 Xerox Corporation 1970: It launched PARC, a research centre for innovation.
1973: Production of Colour printer, mouse, Ethernet and first
portable computer.
1983: Xerox went into financial services and production of
computers but was unsuccessful.
1990s: A revamp in Xerox product line: this included high end
1980s – 2000s Xerox laser printers coupled with scanners that could be connected
to computer networks.
2000: Xerox acquired Textronix, Inc, this made Xerox number
two player in the US for colour laser printers. During this
period the company faced financial problems and laid off
more than 5,200 employees.
