    • How did you use media technologies in the construction, research, planning and evaluation stages?
      • Throughout the project I used a variety of media technologies. Before starting the project of producing a music video and ancillary texts, we needed to do some research about genre, the audience, magazine adverts, conventions in a music promo, factors needed to consider in a Digi Pack and etc.
      • To find the research I primarily used Google. This is a search engine. I also used YouTube to research music promos and to upload any videos that I created for the project. YouTube is a video sharing website. Videos uploaded onto YouTube by standard account holders are limited to ten minutes in length and a file size of 2 GB.
      • We also used Blogger to create a blog and to upload all of our work and to update our progress throughout the project. Blogger is a publishing system created by Pyra Labs, which was bought by Google in 2003.
      • I used Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint. Microsoft Word was used so that I could write down all my notes onto this software and save and edit them throughout the task. I would then copy what I wrote and publish it onto my blog. I used PowerPoint to present my research and used it in my evaluation.
    • Construction Stage
      • Brand new camcorders were given to us to use to record our music video. The cameras saved the files onto the SD card in the camera and also saved a back up of the file into the camera as it had 32 GB hard drive. Also, producing high quality clips were easier because the camcorder were HD. For our ancillary text, we used a our own digital SLR Canon camera, which produced immaculate images as the camera had a high megapixel.
      • iMovie allows users to create movies from a variety of file sources. You can edit the movies, add titles, add audio, or edit transitions. Other effects include basic colour correction and many more. I create my music video on this software and added the audio to the clip. I used many effects to make a highly successful product. I started by putting each clip into order of scene so that it would be easier to edit and find each clip. I then deleted the clips which were not needed for the movie.
      • Adobe Photoshop is a graphics editing programmed developed and published by Adobe Systems. I used this software for the ancillary texts. This was easy because I already had an understanding on how to use this software as I use this for other projects. This software allows you to control images and texts and allow you to edit them at high quality.
    • Evaluation Stage
      • Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint was used so that my evaluation would use a variety of different software's.
      • Camtasia Recorder is a screen video capture program, published by TechSmith. The user defines the area of the screen or the window that is to be captured before recording begins. It also allows you to record the full screen. I used this to record and show what I was talking about throughout my evaluations.
      • Windows Live Movie Maker was used to edit my videos for example adding an audio to a video clip. It has a feature of being a basic audio track editing program that can apply basic effects to audio tracks such as fade in or fade out.
      • I used Prezi throughout my project for example, researching Andrew Goodwin's theory and to evaluate my work. Prezi is a web-based presentation application and storytelling tool that uses a single canvas instead of traditional slides.
      • I also used Slideshare to present my evaluation so that I was using a variety of techniques. The website is an online community for sharing presentations. You can upload PowerPoint and Keynote presentations, Word and PDF documents, and video to the site for sharing publicly or privately.
      • Free Online Surveys is a website which allows you to create questionnaires allowing you to obtain results. After producing the questionnaires, the website gives you the URL for the questionnaire which allows you to send to other people.
      • YouTube was used to publish my videos throughout the project. I also then copied the URL from this website and posted it onto other websites so that my audience would be able to watch and give me feedback for the main product.
      • facebook is a social networking website that allows people across the world to interact with each other. I used this so that I could publish my video onto my facebook page so other people would be able to view the main product and give me feedback.
