1. CHANGE ACCOUNT PICTURE IN WINDOWS 8
Windows 8 is the latest OS from Windows. In Windows 8, the image that is used as ‘Account
Picture’ is an image which is associated with your current account and is displayed on your
Login screen as well as on your Start screen. Unlike in the earlier versions of Windows (up to
Windows 7), Windows 8 doesn’t come with a set of built-in images that can be used as account
pictures. If you want to change your account picture in Windows 8, you will have to do it either
by selecting an existing image on your computer, or taking a picture using your webcam.
In this article you will read 3 different ways to change account picture in Windows 8:
Option 1: From the Start Screen.
Follow the Steps
1. From the Start Screen, click your Account Name (top right of the screen), and select
‘Change Account Picture’.
2. 2. Go to Personalize>Account Picture.
3. Select the image you want to use as your account picture from your hard drive. To do so,
click on ‘Browse’.
4. If you want to take a picture using your webcam, click on ‘Camera’.If you want to adjust
any settings, go to ‘Camera Options’.
3. 5. Once you have selected your image, click on OK.
4. Option 2: From the Settings Menu.
The steps to do this are as follows:
1. Open the Charms Bar, and click on ‘Settings’.
2. Select the ‘Change PC settings’ option.
5. 3. Click on ‘Personalize’, and then ‘Account Picture’.
4. Select an image from either your hard drive, or take one using your webcam.
5. Click on OK.
Option 3: Online.
This is the option you can change your account picture online in Windows 8. This step will work
only for those users who already have an account registered on Microsoft Live, and their
Personalize settings are turned on to ‘Sync’.
The steps to do this are:
1. Login to your Microsoft Live account.
6. 2. Go to your Profile. Click the ‘Change Picture’ option under your current display picture.
3. Upload an image of your choice from your computer. Crop the area you want to keep.
After you are done, click on ‘Save’.
