  3. 3. ACTS 4:5-12The next day the rulers, the elders & the teachersof the law met in Jerusalem. Annas the high priestwas there, & so were Caiaphas, John, Alexander& others of the high priest’s family. They had Peter& John brought before them & began to questionthem: “By what power or what name did you do this?”Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: “Rulers & elders of the people!

ACTS 4:5-12”If we are being called to account today foran act of kindness shown to a man who waslame & are being asked how he was healed,then know this, you & all the people of Israel:It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth,whom you crucified but whom God raisedfrom the dead, that this man stands before you healed.”
  5. 5. ACTS 4:5-12Jesus is “‘the stone you builders rejected,which has become the cornerstone.’Salvation is found in no one else,for there is no other name underheaven given to mankind by whichwe must be saved.”
  6. 6. ACTS 4:18-20Then they called them in again & commandedthem not to speak or teach at all in the nameof Jesus. But Peter & John replied,“Which is right in God’s eyes: to listento you, or to Him? You be the judges!As for us, we cannot help speakingabout what we have seen & heard.”

ACTS 5:27-32The apostles were brought in & made to appearbefore the Sanhedrin to be questioned by the highpriest. “We gave you strict orders not to teach in thisname,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem withyour teaching & are determined to make us guiltyof this man’s blood.” Peter & the other apostles replied:“We must obey God rather than human beings! The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead—whom you killed by hanging Him on a cross.
  8. 8. ACTS 5:27-32God exalted Him to his own right hand as Prince& Savior that He might bring Israel to repentance& forgive their sins. We are witnesses of these things,& so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to thosewho obey Him.”
  9. 9. JOHN 20:29Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me,you have believed; blessed are those who havenot seen & yet have believed.”
