  • I can't understand 'adobe vs html5' that roared in the internet, here and there, especially, when jobs declared that the outstanding tablet, ipad, won't support adobe. I have an impression of adobe that it can play any videos with different video format, in opposite, html5 supports h.246 (According browser publishers’ will) someone thought html5 should take 10 years before replacing adobe in the areas like games, desktop widgets, e-learning interactivities and many applications that require advanced animation API or techniques. As ifunia lists in their official website, html5 can’t replace adobe at once, because “74% of the web can't be seen on the iPad” (that means you have to convert videos by 3rd-party video converter like ifunia and handbrake), ipad needs help, let alone html5, now! So, adobe is necessary for our digital life all the same.

  • I somehow disagree with slide 9. Flash is great for little animation (but please drop the splash pages), web ads (so we can identify them easily to block them) and RIA that manipulate vector or raster graphics but Video on a webpage should be Quicktime or HTML5 video tag with H.264 or Ogg Theroa (for Gecko) ; Rich Internet Applications that mimic desktop should drop Flex/Flash and use jQueryUI, GWT, ext.Js, ... For audio streaming drop flash and use MP3 playlist we can listen in Winamp or iTunes ; For video streaming use the free Darwin Streaming server, Flash Media Server is too expensive. Finally I would add that Flash is brilliant for 2D or isometric web games and emotional rich interactive brand experiences. Brice
