  3. 3. What is expectedfrom an online student? To login to the course frequently!  Login EVERY DAY or at least every other day.  The time of your logging into your course depends on your schedule.  You have the convenience, but you have to put in the TIME.
  4. 4. What is expected from an onlinestudent? To follow directions  Your instructor provided you with all the information you need to be successful. Therefore, you need to READ IT and follow the instructions exactly.
  5. 5. What is expected from an online student? To follow directions  Print all important documents, such as the syllabus.  Access all the buttons and folders in the course and read/print the information.
  6. 6. What is expected from an online student? To interact with the instructor and with the other students in your class. To be PROACTIVE!  Ask questions.  Check your grade.  If no grades are posted, ask the instructor about your standing in the course.  Find a study partner in the class.
  7. 7. What is expected from an online student? To handle the technology!  You are expected to know:  how to save a document,  how to tell the difference between various types of files,  how to upload a file, and  how to navigate the Internet.
  8. 8. What is expected from an online student? If you have difficulties with the technology, sign up for one or more of the FREE WORKSHOPS that we provide. For more information email us at online@bccc.edu
  9. 9. What is expected from an online student? To be patient Not to get easily frustrated. To keep in mind that technology is often quirky or unreliable.TO LEARN TO WORK AROUND THE PROBLEMS!
  10. 10. What is expected from an online student? KEEP YOUR LOGIN PRIVATE!  Do not share your login information with anyone!  Do not let anyone use your login!  Change your password to make your login secure.

  12. 12. What is expected from an online student? TO EDIT HIS/HER EMAIL ADDRESS IN BLACKBOARD  Click on the EMAIL tab and follow the directions that appear on the right side of the screen.  Add your cell phone number too.
  13. 13. What is expected from an online student? TO Read his/her email EVERY DAY. Instructors often send alerts and reminders through email.

  22. 22. BE ORGANIZED with your PC CREATE A FOLDER on your DESKTOP for each of your online classes.  Right-click on the background of your desktop.  Select NEW>FOLDER  Name the folder (EX: PSY 101 7821)  Repeat the same operation for EACH COURSE THAT YOU ARE TAKING PSY101 7821
  23. 23. Right-click on your desk top, selectNEW>FOLDER
  24. 24.  Save all the course documents inside your desktop folder for that specific course.  All the papers that you are creating for that course  All the papers that you are downloading for that course Knowing exactly where you saved your assignments will make it easier for you to upload the documents to Blackboard.
