How to be happy goes over the basics of happiness. You learn about the easiest way to be happy. Contained in the slideshow is a 5 day drill on how to be happy. This drill goes over everything you need to be happier with your life as it is today. It also has a small bit on imagining how your life will be in the future, how to be happier for you. I goes over the hard work involved in getting there.
Repeat the “How to be Happy” drill if happiness subsides and unhappiness returns, or as needed.
This drill is based on Richard Wiseman’s Happiness drill contained in Richard Wiseman’s book 59 Seconds: Think a little, Change a lot.

Be Thankful - Being Gracious for everything you have and being optimistic about future events rather than worried about Negative events.2. Sense of Community - Forging good honest relationships with people who are good for you. Be Careful who you include in your life.

This is a 5 day drill that will help you begin to be gracious foreverything you have.The Drill:1. Each day for the next 5 days come back and complete each Day’s Drill2. Read your answers every day to remember what you are happy aboutNote: Repeat the Drill as necessary some people will repeat every 3 months.
  4. 4. How to be Happy – Day 1It doesn’t matter what you are thankful for whether that is seeing afriend, eating a meal, having your kids, whatever it is I want you guys tofigure out what you are thankful for.Action: Write down 3 things that you are thankful about over the lastweek
  5. 5. How to be Happy – Day 2This How to be Happy is going to take some thought, I want you tothink back to an amazing experience you had. Feeling in Love, your kidbeing born, seeing your Nephew for the first time (Just became anuncle myself). If you want to know How to be Happy you better be ableto hold on to those wonderful momentsAction: Hold on to that moment for a second and experience it again.Remember how it felt when that amazing experience occurred.Now write down a Description of that amazing experience and howgreat it felt when you experienced it.
  6. 6. How to be Happy – Day 3Think into the future, think about how you want your future to be.Imagine How to be Happy, what things have gone right? What have youaccomplished? Remember it takes hard work to achieve your goals, ifnot everyone would have achieved them.Action: Write down your future and what it will be like as youaccomplish your goals. Write down a description of what it will be like.If you want to know How to be Happy you’ll have to see a bright futurefor yourself.

How to be Happy – Day 4How to be Happy is simple but most people miss the basis of it.Think about someone special in your life, now this could be a family memberfriend, teacher, your spouse, whoever, think about how much they mean toyou. How big of an impact they have made on your life, how much you careabout them.Action: In order to understand the value they hold in your life write a shortletter to this person. Describe how much they mean to you, how much youcare about them, and how they have impacted your life.Note: Remember a big part of How to be Happy is the relationships youhave.
  8. 8. How to be Happy – Day 5Think back over the last 7 days, and think of 3 things that wentincredibly well. It doesn’t matter whether it was a Parking spot, a newjob, or just a new opportunity. Think about why those things werepositive. How to be Happy is about focusing on the positive!Action: Write down 3 things that were good that happened and a briefone sentence description of why they went well.
