  2. 2. What is the Digestive System ?<br />When we eat food (bread, meat, and vegetables) are not formed to be used as nourishment. Drinks and food have to be changed into small molecules before they can be absorbed to be go into the blood and taken to cells all over the body. Digestion are steps by which food and drinks should be broken into small parts so the body can use it better to build and nourish cells that energy provides. The Digestive System is the boss of transporting and absorbing nutrients that your body need to get rid of, and the waste that the body doesn’t need.<br />
  3. 3. Stomach<br />Large sack (organ) that is connected to the oesophagus <br />Mechanical and chemical happens in the stomach<br />Food enters the stomach it is soaked in enzymes and acids<br />
  4. 4. Pancreas<br />Its under the stomach and above the intestines<br />Enzymes are in the pancreas to help the digestion of carbohydrates, proteins and fats<br />
  5. 5. Liver<br />A big organ that can get rid of blood toxins, that create bile and blood proteins. <br />Produces juices that are reached to the intestine and across small tubes named ducts.<br />
  6. 6. Gall Bladder<br />A small sac-like organ <br /> It releases and stores a digestive chemical into the small intestine<br />
  7. 7. Small Intestine<br />Digests food <br />It sucks in nutrients<br />
  8. 8. Large Intestine<br />Absorbs water from left over un digested food<br />Then moves unnecessary waste particles from the body <br />
  9. 9. Salivary Glands<br />Diseases, drugs, disorders can make the glands function wrong and to not produce enough <br />Produces saliva <br />
