  • 1. Charity Challenge 2011<br />Victoria Evans &amp; James Stephenson climbed Mount Fuji on 1st July 2011 to raise funds for Architecture for Humanity on the Japan Tsunami and ‘Quake project<br />
  • 2. Architecture for Humanity<br />On March 11th 2011 an 8.9 earthquake struck off the shores of northern Japan. <br />Early data suggests this is the largest earthquake to hit the island nation and a tsunami of waves as high as 33ft struck the coast near Sendai.<br />In partnership with Nike Inc., Architecture for Humanity is working with local architects in Osaka and Kyoto to respond to those affected by the Sendai earthquake and tsunami.<br />The organisation has identified a local community group to rebuild and help to restore normalcy to the lives of those displaced.<br />http://architectureforhumanity.org/<br />

Architecture for Humanity<br />PROJECT:<br />March: Local team assembled (underway) <br />April: community organization identified (underway) <br />May/June: design and development (underway)<br />Aug-Nov: Construction documentation <br />Dec-Feb: Construction <br />Completed in Spring 2012<br />The greatest impact we can make is to focus on specific small scale building projects for local community organisations. These &apos;urban acupuncture&apos; projects create a ripple effect of social cohesion and change.<br />
