This was my dog Chili. She was great. I was so busy at the time when I found out she died, it was like a month later when it sunk in. For some reason the Dog was the one constant in my chaotic life. This year has been really rough, it was tough on her anniversary.

  • This is my dog since 1996. She died real sudden, for me at least, I wasn't around for her last days. I was so buys I took the news pretty well and got on with stuff, it hurt a lot more recently on the first anniversary of not having her, even though I manage a halfway house on the other side of the country she was on, or had been in other countries living etc. She was in this alcoholics life, the one constant never changing thing in my life, I'd managed to screw all my other relationships up over the years.

  • 1. Not ours to know the reason why, Unanswered is our prayer, But ours to wait for Gods own time, to lift the Cross we bear; Not ours to know the reason, why from loved ones we must part, But ours to live in faith and hope, though bleeding to the heart; Not ours to know the reason why this anguish, strife and pain, But ours to know a crown of thorns, Sweet graces for us gain, A Cross, a bleeding Heart and Crown - What greater gifts are given? Be still, my heart, and murmur not; These are the Keys of Heaven.
