Bonjour, Ola, Buongiorno - We visited Europe today and tasted the lovely flavours of Italy. We also learnt some folk dances from Europe and listened to Tchaikovsky. What a cultural afternoon we had. We are thoroughly enjoying our first stage of our Inquiry.

    • It is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, the Norwegian Sea and Mediterranean Sea.
    • It is the second smallest continent.
    • Each country speaks it own language, eg. French, German, Polish, Italian, Spanish and English

    • Europe is a continent of many different cultures.
    • People speak different languages but have now joined together in the European Union. They all have the same money – the Euro
    • Europe has been the centre of much of Western Civilization throughout the history of mankind.
    • Many famous people have come from Europe.

    • Some people live up north by the Arctic where it is very cold.
    Some people live up on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. All over the world people come together to celebrate.

    • Germany – Berlin
    • Greece – Athens

    • Europe is a continent of over 830-million people of diverse origins, cultures, languages and beliefs.

    • Most animals in Europe are found on other continents.
    • They are mainly MAMMALS . But there are snakes and lizards too.

    • Different foods are grown all over the continent.
    • People all over the world enjoy foods from Europe.
    • Some famous dishes include:
    • Pasta
    • Sausage
    • Sandwiches
  • 10. Unusual European Food
    • In France people sometimes eat frogs legs and snails.
    In the United Kingdom people eat haggis and black pudding. In Norway people love eating fish. The Norwegian people even eat whale.
  • 11. Other Interesting Facts
    • Europe is named after the Greek goddess Europa .
    • The longest river is the VOLga .
    • the urals are a mountain range that separates Europe from Asia.
    • The ROMAN EMPIRE dominated Europe for hundreds of years.
