  • Hematite Timber cut 1998, Largest old growth upland and oak and hickory. Severe high grade or they call it shelter growth. 3.1 million bf
  • Comprehensive program, from forestry to the finished product. Staff includes forester, mill manager, sales and admin. Products are primarily hardwood finishes
  • Voluntary = free of regulatory criticism.
  • The logger brings the logs to our processing center where they are sawed and dried
  • Changing aesthetics to match what changing environment has to offer. These forests are in the early stages of recovery. Small trees have knots, stain, CHARACTER. Think of as similar to conventional vs unbleached paper or cotton. Character is natural and beautiful. Convention calls for large, ‘defect’ free pieces. Widespread ultra-high quality specs have specific, damaging results for forest ecosystems. Realistic, educated specs call for RESTORATIVE products.
