    • THEME (DESIGN BRIEF):
    • A UNIVERSITY IN AN EMERGING CONTEXT HAS COMMISSIONED FOR THEIR CAMPUS THE DESIGN OF A SUSTAINABLE SYSTEM CONCEPT FOR:
    • . eating or
    • . clothing care or
    • . enabling students working (places)
  • 14. Hong Kong Beijing Politecnico di Milano Univer. Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi Tsinghua University, Beijing Hong Kong Polytechnic Univ. Universidade de Sao Paulo Istanbul Technical University King Mongkut's Institute of Technology, Bangkok Universidade Federale Parana, Curitiba Shriti school of Design, Bangalore 1. university’s professors collect info/data/images about own context/campus and subject 2. students make a sustainability strategic analysis of assigned campus/contexts/subject 4. professors provide critics and additional info on draft concepts (made on their campus) 5. system concepts are finalized and assessed with politecnico’s professors supervision 3. students develop draft sustainable system concepts > put on web for local professors 6. a digital exhibition of sustainable ideas is prepared and put on the web for circulation Curitiba Bangkok LENS (LEARNING NETWORK ON SUSTAIANBILITY) Bangalore Sao Paulo Istanbul New Delhi Milano
  • 15. LENS web platform for remote multilateral co-education and co-design (www.lens.polimi.it) local professors can upload documents and audio/video students can post their concepts and questions local professors can upload critics to developed concepts it contain a catalogue of emerged sustainable ideas
  • 16. why should ( YOU ) students design a sustainable concept for a far away context? THIS (“FORCED”) LEARNING PROCESS ENABLES: A. students (designing for other campus/contexts) to discover a context different from their own by a strategic analysis and by the direct critics of local teachers over their design. B. teachers (receiving the concept designed for their own campus/contexts) to discover the other’s culture interpretation (and be surprised by unusual ideas). C. to build shared visions of possible changes (catalogue of sustainable ideas).
