  • One of the most pertinent questions people normally ask when you state that you have found your calling by listening to God’s voice is: “How do you understand the will of God?” This slide says that 8 factors should be aligned before you can say, “This is the will of God.” The factors are stated in sequence on the slide. Surrender: Most important of all is to surrender yourself totally to whatever God asks. Word of God: We have to be deeply rooted in the Word of God before we understand His way of thinking. Holy Spirit: As the Holy Spirit communicates with our spirit, it gives us a sense of understanding deeper than superficial knowledge. Self-knowledge: You have to understand your talents and possible contributions within the Kingdom of God, but also understand what in yourself are the biggest hurdles to overcome in fulfilling God’s will. Fellowship: The fellowship of the believers should be used trusted much more in our decision-making process. Kingdom language: Understanding the uniqueness of the Kingdom of God and how it operates is a prerequisite in understanding God’s will. Wisdom of Kairos: God has a certain timing in which He does/prefers things. Discovering the golden Kingdom opportunities and what God carries in His own heart for a specific time helps us a lot in knowing His will. Peace: Only after making your initial decision in obeying God’s will, you will find peace of mind. Stating that you do have peace, before going through the 7 previous steps, and moving forward is often a dangerous approach in fulfilling God’s will. We have to distinguish between peace of spirit and peace in our emotions. Often God’s will disturb our own emotions but creates a deep peace in spirit. On this we often say, “I know what to do even if it will not be pleasant.”
