  2. 2. IN THE PICTURE IS A SNOWY OWL Snowy owls have incredible vision. They also can see from high in the sky and find their prey easily at night or day . They also rely on their keen hearing.
  3. 3. The male snowy owls are whiter than the females. Females never become completely white. They range in size from 20 to 28 inches. Their wingspan is 4.2 to 4.8 feet.
  4. 4. The snowy owls love mainly in the Artic in open, treeless areas called tundra. They are active during the day, especially at dawn and dusk.
  5. 5. They perch on the ground or on short posts. Their favorite target is lemmings. They also hunt small rodents, rabbits, birds and fish and wromes. An adult eats up to 5 lemmings each day.
