  • verifone VeriFone at VeriFone From this sentence in the paper, it appears that Wi-Fi is only used by the Beacon for connection with the PayPal server. In store communication with the customer's mobile appears to be BLE only:
    'The PayPal Beacon also includes a Wi-Fi connection, which passes the phone details to a PayPal server.'

  • kingdavm kingdavm Yes but your paper also says it uses wifi (page 7). I am not sure if wifi is just used to connect back to PayPal's servers or also used to connect to consumers' mobiles 5 months ago
