Science endeavor is too broad to be trained like a discipline where only one ability matters. That is why students science competitions fail to prove their relevance. Guiding and tracking motivated students is a hard challenge for mentors. Experience of PetnicaScience Center shows that students responsibility for their own learning is crucial for dynamics of learning through research. Great advantage of research-based learning is that "discoveries" can be local and adjustable for students of all backgrounds.
