  1. 1. 27:45 Now from the sixth hour (noon) there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour (three oclock). 27:46 And about the ninth hour (three oclock) Jesus criedwith a loud voice, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?--that is, My God,My God, why have You abandoned Me [leaving Me helpless, forsaking and failing Me in My need]?27:47 And some of the bystanders, when they heard it, said, This Man is calling for Elijah!27:48 And one of them immediately ran and took a sponge, soaked it with vinegar (a sour wine), and put it on a reed (staff), and was about to give it to Him to drink. 27:49 But the others said, Wait! Let us see whether Elijah will come to save Him from death. 27:50 And Jesus cried again with a loud voice and gave up His spirit.
  2. 2. 27:51 And at once the curtain of the sanctuary of the templewas torn in two from top to bottom; the earth shook and the rocks were split.27:52 The tombs were opened and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep in death were raised [to life]; 27:53 And coming out of the tombs after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many people. 27:54 When the centurion and those who were with him keeping watch over Jesus observed the earthquake and all that was happening, they were terribly frightened {and} filled with awe, and said, Truly this was Gods Son! 27:55 There were also numerous women there, looking on from a distance, who were of those who had accompanied Jesus from Galilee, ministering to Him.

  7. 7. The temple in those days was divided into three areas or parts. 1. There was the Outer Court...,where the congregation was permitted to enter. 2. the Holy Place..., where the priests entered..., 3. and the Holy of Holies where only the High Priest could enter.… the tearing,...the breaking of the veil...showed that the price had been paid, now through the blood of Jesus Christ’s people everywhere are permitted to come into the presence of God
  8. 8. The earth trembled because of the weight of sin placed upon its Architect and Creator for your sake!1 Peter 2:24 (KJV) Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. The earth trembled symbolizing what will happen on the Great Day2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

  10. 10. The greatest miracle that can happen is to have a changed heartEzekiel 11:19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:Eze 11:20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.Rom 10:9 If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from death, you will be saved.
