  • The wordTense is derivedfrom latin word“tempus” whichmeans time. Averb indicates thetime of an action,event or conditionby changing itsform.
  • Present tense expresses anunchanging, repeated, or reoccurring action orsituation that exists only now. It can alsorepresent a widespread truth. Past tense expresses an action orsituation that was started and finished in thepast. Future tense expresses an action orsituation that will occur in the future.
  • The three indefinite tenses or simple tensesdescribe an action but do not state whether the action isfinished. The three continuous tenses or incomplete tensesdescribe an unfinished action. complete tenses or perfect tensesdescribe a finished action.
