This poster introduces an experimental application to demonstrate the usage of context-based awareness cues in status updates, especially in SNS’s (Social Networking Services). The presented application allows users to add different descriptions of context information to their Twitter messages and Facebook status updates in a narrative format.

The mobile application gathers contextdata from the device itself, available sensors andfrom nearby devices via Bluetooth. The sensedcontext information is presented to the user alongwith proposals for other descriptions, which havebeen used to describe similar contexts earlier. Afterselecting the context items and their abstractions, thestatus update is sent to the server application, whichstores the received context data into a semanticmodel and creates a story-like status update forFacebook and / or Twitter.Goals The application demonstrates technical aspects of collaborative context e.g. how the contextual information can be exchanged between different devices and used for UX-related testing issues. Machine learning can be enabled by saving the selected abstractions and associated raw data. This will create a collectively created database of context semantics that can be shared between users.
