HOW TO BEGIN? <ul><li>For instructions to setup your computer please refer to your “HP – Begin Here” guide (fold out poster)Including power connections, buttons, plugs, computer care </li></ul><ul><li>Turn your computer on </li></ul><ul><li>Connect to the Internet Call your internet service provider for help on how to connect your computer to the internet. </li></ul>
  3. 3. <ul><li>Open a web browser and go to http://ontariotutors.ca </li></ul><ul><li>On the front page click this icon: </li></ul><ul><li>This will take you to a Registration page that looks like: </li></ul><ul><li>For first time users </li></ul><ul><li>you will need to </li></ul><ul><li>register with us to </li></ul><ul><li>receive a username </li></ul><ul><li>and password. </li></ul><ul><li>Click on the </li></ul><ul><li>Register tab at the </li></ul><ul><li>Top of the screen. </li></ul>REGISTERING WITH ONTARIO TUTORS INC.

  5. 5. <ul><li>From the email with username and password information </li></ul><ul><li>You will need to log in: </li></ul><ul><li>and then register for the </li></ul><ul><li>session you wish to join. </li></ul><ul><li>After you login you see </li></ul><ul><li>a page that looks like: </li></ul>LOG IN AND REGISTER FOR INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS
  6. 6. <ul><li>Click on the Register tab on the side of the page. </li></ul><ul><li>Choose from the list of courses the one you would like to take and click the Register button. </li></ul><ul><li>This will put your course in the My sessions page that looks like: </li></ul><ul><li>An email will </li></ul><ul><li>be sent with the </li></ul><ul><li>link to your class. </li></ul>REGISTER FOR INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS
  7. 7. SETTING YOUR AUDIO CONNECTION! <ul><li>You will be prompted to choose your audio connection. Plug in your headset if you want to use the headphones and microphone. </li></ul><ul><li>Click ‘Use Computer Headset’, then ‘Call Using Computer’ (bottom of the box) </li></ul>

  9. 9. HOW TO MUTE? <ul><li>To mute your microphone: Click on your name: Press ‘Mute’ button </li></ul><ul><li>You are muted when a red X shows inside you headphone </li></ul><ul><li>Press ‘Unmute’ to activate your microphone again </li></ul>
  10. 10. <ul><li>To send Video: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Click ‘Video’ in the top right corner of the screen (active when the background is blue) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>A video panel opens at the bottom of the page </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Click ‘Send Video’ (top left of the Video section) </li></ul>SENDING VIDEO
  11. 11. <ul><li>Note: Do not follow these steps if your headset connection is working fine. </li></ul><ul><li>If you are using your computer speakers and want to change to a USB headset you will have to use Audio Setup Wizard to switch between devices: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Click Audio from top toolbar </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Choose Join Audio Conference and Leave Audio Conference </li></ul></ul>USB HEADSET CONNECTION & SWITCHING BETWEEN HEADSET & SPEAKERS
  12. 12. <ul><li>Click Yes when asked do you want to leave </li></ul><ul><li>Plug in your headset now if you are switching from speakers to headset </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Go back to Audio and choose Audio Setup Wizard </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Do not close this box </li></ul></ul>SWITCHING HEADSET & SPEAKERS

CONTINUED … <ul><ul><li>Click Next on the first screen </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>On the second screen, use the dropdown boxes beside ‘Preferred recording device’ and ‘Preferred playback device’ to select the USB Headset </li></ul></ul>Click the arrow to see a list of options, and then click the one you want (USB Headset). Repeat with preferred playback device. Note: If your headset is not plugged in you will only see one option
  14. 14. MORE <ul><li>Click Next/Finish on the next 3 screens </li></ul><ul><li>Click ‘Call Using Computer’ on the Audio Conference screen (if you closed this screen earlier, click Audio then Join Audio Conference to get it back) </li></ul>
