Ecological Responsability Belongs to Everyone ( Publisged in “Olho Vivo”, the school newpaper”) ‏ “ On December 10 the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of the Human Rights was celebrated. Because quality of life is also a right and demands many responsabilities, we decided to commemorate this date to make society conscious of this problem common to all men: the destruction of the environment. In the field trip we made on the 26th to Castro Covilhã Velha (photograph on the right), considered National Heritage, in Serra das Casinhas, we found during the beautiful walk around Nature a pile of garbage, including plastic objects such as boxes, bottles and bags, as we can see on the photograph on the left. We were shocked and we call everyone’s attention to such a negative portair of human action. We ask everybody not to spoil nature, do not drop garbage on our forests, not even a bubble gum. It is necessary to protect the environment and our Heritage. We are conscious of the fact that the future of Humanity and the Earth depends on us. So we plea, if you want a better world, say NO to pollution, may we defend our planet from destruction”. Cristiana Mota e Soraia Ferreira, 7º B
