Two Stage Transition <ul><li>Shadow year 2011/12 </li></ul><ul><li>Functions delegated </li></ul><ul><li>PCT still responsible </li></ul><ul><li>2012/13 or later </li></ul><ul><li>CCG becomes legal NHS body </li></ul><ul><li>Responsible to the National Commissioning Board </li></ul><ul><li>Has a Responsible Officer </li></ul>

Functions of The CCG (1) <ul><li>Have Regard of the NHS Constitution </li></ul><ul><li>Commission Hospital, Community Health and certain Public Health services for the local community </li></ul><ul><li>Determine local health needs and what services are to be provided to meet those, having regard to the resources available to them. </li></ul>

Functions of CCG (2) <ul><li>Secure A&E and ambulance services, walk-in centres and GUM services for all persons present in their area. </li></ul><ul><li>Secure 18 week wait target </li></ul><ul><li>Secure continuous improvement in the quality of care for commissioned services </li></ul><ul><li>Support the continuous Improvement of the quality of Primary Care </li></ul>
