TO INSERT ACCENTS USING A MAC COMPUTER  System Preferences  select “ Language and Text”  in “ Source Input” select “ US English international-PC”  Also select the option “ Keyboard & character viewer”.  On the top right corner of the screen, left to the date and time, you'll see an American flag with the logo PC.  Click on it and then click on “Show keyboard viewer” .  When you want to type accents, you just need to press the “ Option” key and the available accents will appear in orange on the little keyboard window .  Once you have pressed on “ Option” to identify which key corresponds to the accent you want: 1) press simultaneously the option key and the key that makes the accent and 2) the letter on which you want the accent to be. To type the acute accent over a vowel, hold the “ Option” key and type “e”. Release those keys and type the letter you want. Or you could use the apostrophe (key is left to enter/return) : press the apostrophe and then the letter you want: á = Opt + e, then a é = Opt + e, then e í = Opt + e, then i ó = Opt + e, then o ú = Opt + e, then u To type “ ñ” , hold down the “ Option” key while you type the “ n”. Release it and type “n” again. ñ = Opt + n, then n To type the “ ü” , hold down the “ Option” key while you type “ u” . Release it and type “ u” again. ü = Opt + u, then u To type “¿” and “ ¡ ” : ¿ Opt + shift + ? ¡ = Opt + 1
