    • Since last July….
    • We coordinated 756 volunteersfor RAGBRAI.
    • We collected over 1,300 pounds offresh produce at a Farmers’ Market.HACAP continued the project andcollected another 1,300 pounds.
    • We also talked with over 500 peopleabout our Women’s LeadershipInitiative at a Farmers’ Market.
    • We added 8 LoanedExecutives to our team.
    • We were voted Best Charity byCBJ readers!
    • We kicked off our campaign at theNational Czech & Slovak Museum & Library.We were the first group to do an event inthe Grand Hall.
    • We brought together organizations tocreate a video that showed the roadwe have traveled.
    • Marc, Cathy and Ron helpedtell our story.
    • Together we can completethe puzzle.
    • The Blue Man helped Raining Rosewith its Pacesetter Campaign.
    • Pacesetter Raining Roseraised $33,145.
    • Pacesetter Skogman Companiesraised $50,018.
    • Fall 2012
    • We had great sponsors for ourLeadership Giving Society events!
    • Our Sinclair event was held at theBairds’ house.
    • Jill Hockaday, along-time UnitedWaysupporter, sharedwith Sinclairmembers howshe receivedservices atFoundation 2.
    • The Young Leaders hosted an eventand heard from long time donors onwhy giving is important.
    • Sondra Shaw-Hardy spoke at the Women’sLeadership Initiative Luncheon aboutwomen and philanthropy.
    • We met with young professionals atthe Next Gen Summit.
    • Art Staed, Representative in the IowaHouse, stopped by for a tour of our2-1-1 facilities!
    • We held our first Condition of theCommunity Event – BuildingTomorrow’s Workforce.
    • We learned that it takes a wage of$18.08/hour for a single parent ofone to meet basic needs.
    • We awarded 3 campaign prizes!Marci Wooff, who works at CRST and has givento United Way for 27 years, won the Octoberprize – a refrigerator donated by Whirlpool.
    • Jake Zoss, from Cargill, won theSeptember prize – a Beautyrest BlackMattress Set donated by Smulekoff’s.
    • Mary Cummings, Grant WoodAEA, won $2,500 worth of gas giftcards from Hawkeye ConvenienceStores.
    • After its September 2011implementation, KPACE has helped 67students receive training.
    • Jeri, a KPACE student, told her storyabout earning her GED and howthat opened the door toadditional training.
    • We participated in the firstGiving Tuesday.
    • RED Ahead was able to reach803 children in 2012.
    • Winter 2012
    • Ron was caught speeding…
    • …because he was looking at thisbillboard.
    • Kelly Mulford, a Quaker Shipping 20Powerball winner, announced at anews conference that he was donating$75,000 to United Way.
    • We honored 22 local middle andhigh school students at ourAnnual Martin Luther King Jr. Luncheon.
    • United Way 2-1-1 spent 1,038 hoursscheduling tax appointments, a servicevalued at more than $25,789.
    • Over 122,000 donors gavemore than $10 million.
    • Amanda Young spoke about her child’sexperience at Play & Learn.
    • Wayne is able to stay in his homebecause of help he receives fromAging Services.
    • We even had Dateline NBC coverage atour Campaign Celebration!
    • Ron Olson, 2013CampaignChair, met FlatRon!

    • Our website received a national award.
    • We achieved a 4-star rating for soundfiscal management and commitmentto accountability and transparency.
