  • 1. Graduation Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Studies
  • 2. Applying for Graduation When you register for your last semester of coursework, you need to apply for graduation. To do this, follow the steps below: 1. Pick up an application at the BMS office, Kelly Hall room 213 or request one to be sent to you via email. The form can also be downloaded from the Registrar’s website. http://academics.utep.edu/Default.aspx? alias=academics.utep.edu/registrar 2. The application can be returned to the BMS office in person, by email, or by fax.
  • 3. Clearing for Graduation Once the application is received, your records will be verified. You will be notified once the process is complete. If you clear for graduation, your application will be signed by the Dean and forwarded to the Registration and Records office for processing. They will post your application fee to your account. If you do not clear for graduation, you will be notified via email of the reasons.
  • 4. Commencement If your application is processed, you will be receiving emails regarding Commencement. Commencement ceremonies • Spring commencement is in May • Students can walk in the May commencement if they are within 6 hours of completing their degree in the summer. • Fall commencement is in December If you plan to enroll in a mini-mester, talk to your advisor regarding which commencement you can attend.
  • 5. Honors If you have a GPA of 3.5 or above and 60 institutional credit hours, you are eligible for honors distinctions. • 3.5-3.79 cum laude • 3.8-3.89 magna cum laude • 3.9-4.0 summa cum laude If you do not have 60 hours, your transfer credits may be considered if all transcripts show a GPA of 3.5 or above. If you have questions, about eligibility, call the BMS Office at 915-747-5151.
