  • 3. Who are we looking for? You must be a currently enrolled USQ student and we strongly encourage Marketing, Communications, PR, Creative Media and Information Technology students to consider applying. Members of the incoming class of 2014 are welcome to apply. • You must be wildly enthusiastic about USQ’s reputation, achievements, people, history, and place. In particular, you are deeply proud of USQ’s student, alumni, researchers and lecturer accomplishments. • You construct and edit sentences to perfection. • You are organised, self-motivated and have a habit of meeting deadlines, exceeding expectations and knocking specified briefs out of the ballpark. • You have a knack for identifying and assessing opportunities and making sure they’re a right fit for USQ. • You are a team player and don’t mind chipping in when your team needs you. • Skills in video editing, photography and Photoshop will be favourably considered.
  • 4. What will you do? • Identify and recommend content and digital channels. • Draft, revise and collate communication for a variety of digital channels. • Liaise with internal departments and students at USQ. • Draft and publish engaging content. • Provide general support to USQ departments and Marketing and Student Attraction teams, as required. Hours and Salary Rate • This position requires a commitment of 8–10 hours per week from February–December 2014, with the option to increase hours during vacation periods. • Salary rate starts at $31.00 per hour.
  • 5. Toowoomba Digital Marketing Intern Are you a current USQ Toowoomba student who excels at writing Facebook status messages and interesting tweets? Do you love telling others about what makes USQ Toowoomba special and unique? This paid casual student position reports to the Online Marketing Manager. Job Description The University of Southern Queensland has grown its social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, Linkedin, etc) to communicate with our target markets online. The primary responsibility of the Toowoomba Digital Marketing Intern is to assist us in curating, composing and publishing interesting content to the University’s official social media accounts. In addition to daily curation and moderation tasks, our new Toowoomba Digital Marketing Intern will contribute towards the University’s Digital Marketing Strategy. You may also brainstorm and implement innovative user experiences for USQ’s digital channels. This is an opportunity to build your portfolio within social media and gain experience within a dynamic and innovative team.
  • 6. Springfield Digital Marketing Intern Are you a current USQ Springfield student who excels at writing Facebook status messages and interesting tweets? This paid casual student position reports to the Springfield Marketing Coordinator and Online Marketing Manager as part of the 2014 USQ Internship Program. The primary responsibility of the Springfield Digital Marketing Intern is to assist us in curating, composing and publishing interesting content to the University’s official social media accounts. Job Description The University of Southern Queensland has over 80 nationalities studying with us worldwide. The primary responsibility of the Digital Marketing Intern (International) is to assist the USQ International team in curating, composing and publish interesting content to the University’s official social media accounts and developing relevant and engaging content. In addition to daily curation and moderation tasks, our new International Digital Marketing Intern will contribute towards the USQ International Marketing Strategy. This is an opportunity to build your international portfolio and gain experience on a global scale.
  • 8. International Communication Digital Intern Are you passionate about the written word? Are you a people-person who can build relationships and capture all that is great about USQ? Are you wanting to hone your skills for the international market place? This paid casual student position reports to the Online Marketing Manager. Job Description The University of Southern Queensland has a diverse student population that we want to engage with in a multi-channelled and multi- lingual environment. The primary responsibility of the Internationa Communication Digital Intern is to curate, draft and execute communication plans for our international target markets and content which showcase USQ to our students and the world. The International Digital Communication Intern will contribute towards the University’s International Marketing Strategy. You may also brainstorm and implement innovative user experiences for USQ’s digital channels. This is an opportunity to build your written portfolio and extend your knowledge in a diverse marketplace.
  • 9. Residential Colleges Digital Intern Are you a 2014 Residential College student? Or prepared to move on-campus? Do you love telling others about what makes USQ’s Residential Colleges special and unique? This paid casual student position reports to the Online Marketing Manager and Residential Life Manager as part of the 2014 USQ Internship Program. Job Description The University of Southern Queensland Residential Colleges are proud to share the residential colleges experience online. The primary responsibility of the Residential Colleges Digital Intern is to assist us in curating, composing and publishing interesting content to the University’s official accounts and website. In addition to daily curation and moderation tasks, our new Residential Colleges Digital Intern will contribute towards the University’s digital marketing strategy. You may also brainstorm and implement innovative user experiences for USQ’s digital channels. This is an opportunity to showcase your creative flair and encourage new residents to move on-campus.
  • 10. Student Services Digital Intern Are you passionate about raising awareness on different issues? Do you enjoy promoting a healthy lifestyle? Want to be paid for doing so? This paid casual student position reports to the Online Marketing Manager as part of the 2014 USQ Internship Program. Job Description Student Services are an important asset to USQ and provide support in a variety of ways, this includes: disability services, student equity, health services, accommodation facilities, steps to success, healthy lifestyle information, welfare & loans, career guidance, linking up tips, psychological support, sexual health, employability skills and scholarships. The primary responsibility of the Student Services Digital Intern is to assist the Student Services team in curating, composing and publishing interesting content to the University’s official social media accounts. In addition to daily curation and moderation tasks, our new Student Services Digital Marketing Intern will contribute towards the University’s Digital Marketing Strategy. You may also brainstorm and implement innovative user experiences for USQ’s digital channels. This is an opportunity to showcase and raise awareness of the University’s diverse services and build your skill set.

This paid casual student position reports to the Supervisor (Ellipsis Media) as part of the 2014 USQ Internship Program. Job Description USQ Printing Services has recently changed our name to Ellipsis Media. The primary responsibility of the Media Marketing Intern is to assist us in planning a marketing campaign and produce eye catching, promotional material to further establish our position within the media industry. You may also brainstorm and implement innovative ideas to help market newly acquired services such as social media campaign solutions and 3D print and scanning. This is an opportunity to build your portfolio and gain experience in a real-world environment.
