Five reasons you’re ready to start Uni

  1. 1. 5 reasons you’re ready to study at university Take a leap out of your comfort zone
  2. 2. So, you’re thinking of starting study but not sure if you’re ready to take the plunge? It can be exactly like skydiving and taking that first step out of the plane at 3500 feet. Do you think that the first person to jump wasn’t afraid of what could go wrong? Of course they were and you can bet each person since has been just as scared as that first time. Beginning study will be exactly the same… scary but also exhilarating and one of the most incredible experiences of your life.
  3. 3. You’ve done some Googling The first thing we do when we want to find out more, is turn to Google. Where is the best jump spot in Australia? What is the graduate employment rate for USQ graduates? Will I earn more money with a degree? Being nervous and having a lot of questions is a good thing and whilst Dr Google is good for finding answers, the USQ student blogs will give you real insight into what it’s actually like to be a student. Check out usqedu.wordpress.com
  4. 4. You’ve asked your friends and family if you’re crazy You’ve checked out the risks and you’ve asked for reassurance from your support network. Regardless of what they say, telling your nearest and dearest is a way for you to process and verbalise how excited you are about this next part of your life. Your friends know you and will offer words of advice and encourage you to take the next steps. ‘The ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones who do’ – Steve Jobs
  5. 5. You want to push the boundaries No one would be crazy enough to think they could jump out of a plane unless they wanted to push the boundaries and see what they were capable of. You may not have all the skills necessary to start studying right off the bat, but with our support you will get there. Didn’t finish high school? You can still go to uni. Ask us how. – usq.edu.au
  6. 6. You’re passionately curious What drove that first person to take a step out of the aeroplane with only a piece of silk strapped to his back? Curiosity. Your friends and family have all seen how excited and passionate you get about certain topics and want to see you channel it into your work life. If you’re passionately curious, you’re well on your way to succeeding as a student. I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious. – Albert Einstein
  7. 7. You’ve got your parachute You’re on the plane, you’ve been waiting a long time for this moment. Take a deep breath and jump. You’ll never be alone in your studies, from your first contact with us to graduation, we’ll be by your side to answer your questions and catch you when you fall. Your own personal parachute… You cannot always wait for the perfect time, sometimes you must dare to jump.
  8. 8. So what are you waiting for? The sky is the limit, pull that ripcord, we will make sure you land safely and enjoy the ride.
