United States Army Garrison Japan HMD LEAVE and TDY • Army Family Housing (AFH) and Unaccompanied Personnel Housing (UPH) residents: To ensure proper maintenance and care of quarters and lawns, all AFH and UPH residents must notify the HMD for extended absences over seven (7) days • Residents must assign a sponsor/responsible adult to perform periodic checks to ensure their residence and yard are properly maintained • In the event that you do NOT assign a responsible adult, HMD will contact your unit or organization and request their assistance with yard maintenance • Form for Extended Absences is available on the Garrison Website http://www.usagj.jp.pac.army.mil and at the HMD (Bldg 671) • If you have any questions, please contact the HMD at 263-3527/8261 UNCLASSIFIED Tuesday, August 26, 2014 11

United States Army Garrison Japan HMD Pet Owners’ Responsibility • Sponsors are responsible for cleaning the areas used by their pets • If kept outside, the pet’s area must be policed daily to prevent a buildup of trash and fecal materials • Owners must clean up waste left by their pet during walks • Fecal droppings must be disposed of in sealed plastic bags (preferable double bags) and be placed in garbage receptacles • Un-bagged waste must not be placed in garbage receptacles For more information, contact the Housing Management Division 263-3441/3527 UNCLASSIFIED Tuesday, August 26, 2014 12

Trash containers should be securely covered to prevent crows from opening the containers and gaining access. Trash bags containing food should not be left out in the open.
