  • 1.   Kenny  Anthony  Lead  Government  to  spend   US$40,000.00  to  recover  EC$38,000.00?     The  Government  of  the  Saint  Lucia  instituted  legal  proceedings  against   Allen  Chastanet.  According  to  documents  filed,  the  SLP  government   wants  to  recover  EC$38,000.00  which  they  claimed  was  not  used  in   accordance  to  government's  protocol,  however,  the  UNITED  PAC  has   understood  that  Dominica's  Queen  Counsel  Anthony  Astaphane  has   been  retained  by  Kenny  Anthony  to  the  tune  of  US40,000  to  represent   the  GOSL  in  that  said  case.  Question  is  why  weren't  the  local  attorneys   from  the  Attorney  General's  Chambers  retained  and  is  our  Prime   Minister  saying  to  us  tax  payers  that  the  lawyers  in  the  Attorney  General   Chambers  are  incompetent  when  it  comes  to  defending  the  GOSL  or  is   pay  back  at  the  expense  of  tax  payers  in  this  country.  UNITED  PAC  has   also  understood  that  the  proceeding  got  under  way  today  and  will   sought  clarification  on  the  logic  of  spending  US  40,000.00  or  more  to   recover  a  perceived  EC$38,000.00  especially  when  the  government  is   more  than  likely  to  lose.  We  will  continue  to  follow  and  monitor  this   development.
