Campus Parking BasicsStudents should:Familiarize themselves with the campusparking map before the first day of classesAllow plenty of time to get to campus,especially during peak class times (Mondaythrough Thursday mornings)Keep a campus parking map in their vehiclePark only between two solid white linesSave PTS phone number in their cell phones:(859) 257-5757Look for PTS employees at the Stadium forany questions about where to park during thefirst few days of classes

Where Can My Student Park?Residential Permits- Wait until you have received your official housing assignment- Required by August 26- Most R areas require an R permit 24/7Commuter Students- K permit- Commonwealth Stadium area(Red, Blue, E/K)- Required by September 16Motorcycle/Moped Permits- $8 per monthShort-term parking- Over 300 parking meters throughout campus- Pay to park in Parking Structure #5 or #7 or by W.T. Young Library

  • 6. Obtaining a Disabled PermitShort-term (up to two weeks)- Contact Parking and Transportation ServicesExtended/Permanent- Contact Disability Resource Center, Room 2,Alumni Gym- 257-2754- UK disability permit required to park oncampus; state disabled permit alone is notsufficient
  • 7. Football Game Day Parking- Vehicles should be moved from K areas by 9 a.m.on game days- No parking on University Drive on days ofhome football games- Students may move their vehicles to most Elots* anytime after 3:30 p.m. on Friday; do notmove to an R lot- Parking Structures #1 and #7 are closed on gamedays- Cars must be moved back to CommonwealthStadium before 5 a.m. Monday- *Check our Football Parking page for a list ofexceptions
  • 8. Visitor Parking For planned visits, students can visitPTS to pick up a temporary visitor pass For short or unplanned visits, visitorscan utilize pay parking structures (#5,#7) or meters After hours and on weekends, visitorscan park in lots not controlled for permits
  • 9. Consequences for Parking inViolation• Citations range from $15-$175• Most citations are $25• Most citations/impoundments may beappealed• Pay tickets promptly to prevent holds onstudent account or escalation ofenforcement• Pay attention to email notifications fromPTS

Campus Bus ServiceCATS Buses “University of Kentucky” on side Buses range in size; carry between15-38 passengers Serve inner campus with Red, Blue and Yellow routes Run 7 a.m. to midnight, M-F during fall and spring semestersLextran Buses “Lextran” on side Carry 40+ passengers Run from Commonwealth Stadium toMain Campus Stadium route does not have a fare
