If this does not work I really don’t know, for this presentation is simple to follow but maybe hard to digest. Poverty is the shortage of common things such as food, clothing, shelter and safe drinking water, all of which determine the quality of life. ...SO ARE WE DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. This organisation uend.org, is doing its best and you, and you??

UEnd - The average person's Thoughts - Presentation Transcript

  1. Almost half of the world over 3,000,000,000 (billion) people live on less than $2.50 a day
  2. and... I never did anything about it because...
  3. I didn’t know it was that bad
  4. I decided to explore the issues I found new causes I believe in at
  5. 25,000 of poverty children die every day
  6. yet I never saved a life because I didn’t think I could make a difference
  7. So I let go of my assumptions If I assume I can’t help then I never will because a 2% diversion of Christmas spending would put $20 billion toward eradicating world poverty
  8. Almost $1 trillion per year is spent on holiday gifts. Less than 1% of that could put every child in the world in school yet it never happens
  9. I never gave because I’m just one person
  10. If everyone does nothing then nothing will change. If Everyone cares Then Everything will change but... That’s not logical.
  11. Nearly 1 billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a book or sign their names.
  12. I didn’t help because I couldn’t afford to give
  13. Some conceptions need to be destroyed. Slay the Sacred Cow. Think Creatively A little is better than nothing. Everyone can afford to give Something
  14. But charities aren’t efficient anyways. Most of the money goes to overhead and salaries.
  15. “what concerns me is not the way things are, but rather the way people think things are”-Epictetus, Philosopher 100% of donations through go directly to the project of choice
  16. 1.1 billion people in developing countries have inadequate access to water
  17. yet I’ve been too busy to give
  18. So I reversed my viewpoint “You can’t see the good ideas in front of you by looking twice as hard at what’s behind you” -Andrew Mercer, Innovator Online gifting at takes less than 5 minutes to complete
  19. And I couldn’t find a cause I believed in
  20. So I challenged the rules and gave to a friend There are almost 100 projects in he can choose from
  21. I changed the way I think. made a donation, gave a gift, and changed the world. You can do the same
  22. Our Mission UEnd.org exists to inspire and empower North Americans to refocus a portion of their Christmas spending towards strategic and sustainable projects in the developing world to help them eradicate poverty. visit us online at www.uend.org
