  • With an Eco System built around best in class technology partners and legacy Avaya Nortel Channels, Esnatech, along with Avaya and their business partners (a few of which we have listed here) have been delivering major deployments of UC solutions to a who’s who of domestic and international customers that include but are not limited to the Department of Foreign Affairs in Canada, a financial services division of Goldman Sachs, to PG&E the largest utility in the US, to UAIG, the largest private auto insurer in the US as well as the US Senate and the Federal Aviation Administration or FAA.
  • Esna is proud of its highly referrenceable client base. They represent a who’s who of the largest commercial and gov’t accounts in the world, including The US Senate, Federal Aviation Administration, Pacific Gas & Electric (the largest public utility in the US) which we will talk about in greater detail later but also, customers like Litton Loan Services which is a large wholly owned subsidiary of Goldman Sach and UAIG, the largest independent auto insurer in the US as well as a host of multinational and international customers from Chevron, Airbus, and the Department of Foreign Affairs in Canada.
  • One of the things that makes Esnatech unique is than the same software platform that supports these major customer installations is the same one that supports small and medium size businesses. Running on a standard Windows 2K3 platform, TOL scales easily from 4 ports and 100 users to 800 ports and over 100,000 users. Understanding that our customers typically have an installed legacy voice messaging solution, Esna has built TOL to address 3 key UC tenants. First of all, Esna insures that customers will not lose legacy call or message processing functionality by replicating virtually every app, interface and feature set. Next, we provide both backward and forward interoperability to legacy and or next gen Telephony infrastructure utilizing our SIP based software solution as well a meeting customer needs with a host of pre packaged UC apps. Finally, TOL enables companies to employ an evolutionary path to UC by providing an Open API for the integration of 3rd party core business applications from Salesforce, Google, Microsoft and others with the flexibility to speech enable these apps with Nuance speech tools or customize these apps with our open SDK and IVR Development Engine to facilitate the rapid deployment of Centralized or Sequenced Applications for Avaya Aura, Nortel, Cisco and others.
  • So let’s start with the Avaya installed base as these customers are mission critical elements for Avaya’s success. The question is, how can Esna help Avaya protect and server customers who are end of life and or end of support on trusted legacy infrastructure? It is true that end of life and support for key Avaya platforms like OCTel, Meridian Mail, Call Pilot and others present an opportunity for competitive incursion that could spread to the replacement of core call control and CRM platforms currently being provided by Avaya within the installed customer base. While the ability for Avaya’s competitors to utilize this weakness as a Trojan Horse into the base is important, what is most significant is that customers are finding that there are roadblocks to migration as current Avaya Messaging solutions do not offer all the features that existed on legacy messaging systems and this situation is further hindering these customers from making an Avaya decision. Esnatech solves this issue by offering a choice for customers needing to migrate to a supported messaging, UM or UC platform. With Esna, the customer can either migrate directly to our SIP based platform and move all users, callers apps, IVR’s etc seamlessly on to a single platform or utilize our “SAFE” or S IP A pps & F eature server by E sna” in conjunction with Avaya Aura, Avaya Messaging and CRM platforms as a stand alone Apps server to fill the feature gaps that have prevented customers from Migrating to these core Avaya offers. Since Esna’s offers are both backwards and forwards compatible to existing voice infrastructure from any PBX manufacturer, Avaya’s investment in OCTel customers who are on competitive voice platforms from Cisco, Mitel, Siemens and others can be supported without costly pbx upgrades and can even support existing or discontinued Telephone interfaces (TUI’s) from OCTel Aria and Serenade to Nortel Meridian Mail and Call Pilot.
  • As mentioned before, I we will be discussing 3 major customers as a means of highlighting not only the revenue opportunities to be had with Esna but more importantly, how you can satisfy key customer needs with Telephony Office LinX. The FAA is a perfect example of legacy messaging to next gen UC migration. This customer had been utilizing an Avaya OCTel 300 Solution utilizing the unique Serenade User Interface. They were also interested in maintaining business continuity and creating a more transparent transition from Serenade to TOL.
  • Esna solved this problem but providing a TOL solution with a custom Serenade TUI, a specialized migration tool that moved existing recorded names and greetings from the OCTel to the TOL server. These two aspects of the TOL solution created an easy migration path and more seamless transition for FAA IT staff, users and callers. Finally, Esna’s TOL was configured in a high availability configuration with replicated voice servers that provided for auto sync, failover and restore, all without the need for human intervention thus exceeding the business continuity standards set forth by the FAA.
  • INDUSTRY: Natural Gas and Electricity CUSTOMER PROFILE: Utility company is a provider of natural gas and electricity. The company’s top priority is the safe transmission and deliverance of energy to all of its customers. Based in the States, it is one of the largest utility companies delivering combination natural gas and electric securely and reliably. NEEDS: Ability to integrate with existing legacy and new PBX platforms so they can flatten and consolidate Auto attendant and voice mail locations across all their locations. Includes 6 brands of PBX’s and 70 different voice mail systems Ability to integrate with their existing Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange environment, specifically their migration from MS exchange 2003 to 2010 Ability to function and operate on supported Company hardware and Operating System platforms so they could leverage approved and secure OS that operates within their network Ability to interface with existing Fax Servers Simple voicemail and advanced UM features for select chosen users Option to enable/disable Voice Mail System feature sets (within entire company, group(s), or on individual basis) to be in line with prospective finalized Collaboration plan Advanced collaboration tools, including fax, mobility, web/portal, etc… APPLICATION: Telephony Office-LinX Enterprise Edition Auto Attendant Voice Messaging Basic Unified Messaging Advanced Unified Messaging CTI Services Presence Management Fax Services Mobility Services Emergency event Notification Tutorials KEY BENEFITS: Esnatech’s TOL Platform provided the Utility Company with the ability to integrate with all PBXs, including existing legacy platforms and new age platforms. It provided users with advanced collaboration tools, including fax, mobility, web/portal, etc., and offered voice mail system networking to legacy platforms as well.   In January, 2008 the Utility Company created a Voice Mail System (VMS) Replacement Project. A team was built to analyze the company in terms of needs, industry trends, and concerns across departments. The RFP was issued in February 2008 to 7 VMS manufacturers, with specific criteria and requirements of the new VMS platform. Six of the 7 vendors replied, and from that group with one less, 2 were disqualified because they were unable to meet the RFP criteria. The four remaining vendors were evaluated and scored in March of 2008. Esnatech was able to meet the Utility Company’s RFI requirements and became its VMS provider. Key attributes to deploying the Telephony Office-LinX platform included: 1.  Seamless scalability to well over 600 ports 2.  High Availability SIP architecture with no single point of failure 3.  Standards based hardware platform that could be supported and monitored     like any other node in their network 4.  High interoperability to existing IT infrastructure (Cisco, AASTRA, Avaya,     Asterisk, Fujitsu, Rolm, Exchange, AD, etc...) 5.  The ability to consolidate existing applications into a single UC deployment        platform (replace multiple dedicated voice applications that required annual     maintenance and license renewals.) 6.  Deployment of advanced UC functionality including Mobility Clients, CTI, Call     Recording, Unified Messaging, etc... The system today is running over 400 ports of voice processing across their existing PBX network. They have been able to successfully centralize the deployment and manage the cluster of TOL servers running in a high availability node from their central data centre. By leveraging their existing infrastructure, the Utility Company has deployed all their SYNC services and UC/UM services from within their existing virtual environment. The company also benefits from auto data backup with their existing Storage Area Network (SAN) for further real-time redundancy.
  • After being selected in a major RFP against Microsoft, Cisco and others and having been tested in the Labs for nearly a year, the TOL solution was implemented for more than 20,000 UC Users integrating via native SIP and by TDM gateways with over 400 Ports to provide a centralized UC solution all without the need for a coordinated Dial Plan. This design included a fully Geo Redundant as well as High Availability configuration in Northern California that fully integrates to MS Exchange and is running in a windows environment on a hardened, PG&E specific windows OS on PG&E server standards. To the customer this is just another business software solution running on their Dell Standards and managed like any other friendly node in their network.
  • The US Senate is widely viewed as the most demanding customer in the Cap Cities area.  In taking part in the overall Telephone Modernization Project (TMP), Esnatech’s role was to provide a “like for like” replacement for their existing OCTel voice messaging system that supports nearly 20,000 users on Capitol Hill. Beyond voicemail functionality and automated attendant replication, the US Senate had several advanced architectural and Unified Communication capability imperatives which included but were not limited to: Seamless Scalability High Availability SIP Architecture with no single point of failure Standards based hardware platforms that could be supported and monitored like any other node in the Senate network High interoperability to existing IT infrastructure (DMS 100, CS 2100, Exchange, AD, etc) The ability to consolidate existing applications into a single UC deployment platform (Replace existing Group Alert System) Deployment of advanced UC functionality including Mobility Clients, CTI, Call Recording, Unified Messaging, etc
  • The Senate was “less than trusting” that any solution could meet the required specifications as previous solutions had fallen short and or not passed performance testing in the Senate Labs.  As such, Esna was required to install our software solution in the Senate Labs.  During that time, we developed: Native SIP integration to the CS2100, Enhanced our Mass Notification software to address the need to provide “tiered notification” of roll call votes and Created a dual database server architecture that provides the ability to replicate in both the Primary and Alternate Senate Computing Facilities a mirrored data base of all voice and data events on every TOL server and on redundant data base servers. All the above listed functionality including full replication of all OCTel Feature Sets was installed on Senate Provided Industry Standard servers integrated and integrated simultaneously to both their DMS 100 and CS 2100 servers as well as Exchange and tested in the Labs for nearly a year and passed with flying colors.  Production implementation occurred in less than 30 days and the customer has signed off on the project and has actually assigned a full time internal marketing representative to showcase this technology to their user community and further market advanced services which will result in further add on sales for Verizon. Simply put, the US Senate now has a one of the largest single site implementations of Unified Communications in the world.  It is feature rich, highly resilient with a single point of administration that is a software only, SIP based solution that runs on industry standard/customer provided hardware platforms.
  • Now, if Google or other SaaS based applications are on their radar, Agencies can take comfort in knowing that esnatech is the first enterprise business application to bridge support for SaaS Service such as Google apps and Salesforce.com With the broad base of PBX integrations that esnatech supports either individually or simultaneously, all doors will be open to esnatech customers regardless of whether it is an Avaya, Cisco, NEC, MItel, Nortel or Cloud PBX environment. Also remember that we are both backwards and forwards (SIP or TDM) compatible on the various releases of IP or TDM PBX releases from these companies.
