    • What is distance education or distance learning?
    • Distance education is educational process where the vast majority of the teachings take places with the teacher and student being apart.
    • This means that the process uses teaching methods that convey education to students outside of the traditional classroom through print equipment and supplies such as: the computer, Internet, software programs, electronic conferencing and other resources.

    • is a field of education that focuses on the pedagogy, andragogy technology, and instructional systems design that aim to deliver education to students who are not physically "on site".

    • Distance education is more broad than distance learning .It is systematic system and formal which consist learning environment and instructor and separated learners.

    • The earliest efforts at distance education involved correspondence study and really did not use any form of telecommunication. Instead, these early efforts relied on the postal service for the delivery of content and assignments.
    • Next came audio-based distance education which incorporated radio and audio teleconferencing. During the 1940's, video-based distance education consisted of one-way video and audio, one-way video and two-way audio or two-way video-audio

    • Today we're looking at web-based instruction using telecommunication and Internet technologies.
