Long journey of Ruby standard library at RubyConf AU 2024
How I Created My Contents Page
1. I started with
adding a gradient
background
similarly to the
front cover with
the colour
scheme of grey
and white.
I then spilt the
page in two by
filling the bottom
half with a block
of white – this
allowed a layer
where the text an
sit on.
2. Then added the
title for this page
– which is
contents in the
same font used in
the front cover to
keep consistency
within the
magazine.
After this I added
an image to fill
the top half of
the contents page
of the kids that
our school our
sponsoring
3. To separate the
text that will go
onto the contents
page I added lines
to create
columns.
I then took the
‘press’ logo and
placed it above the
image and turn
down its opacity to
create a more softer
approach to the
page rather then a
block colour.
4. I then added the
text for each
section of stories.
Then added the
stories into the
contents page
5. Then put the
page numbers
next to each
story so that the
reader can
quickly find the
story they are
interested in
To interest the
reader even more
I inserted images
related to the
stories embedded
within the text.
