  • 2. Technology Have you ever used a phone to call a friend? Of course, each time you do there should be a thanks for Ezra Cornell. Due to his hard work, the construction of telegraph lines were placed between Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland, as the first telegraph lines of substance in the United State. The telegraph lead to the invention of the home telephone and eventually the cell phone
  • 3. Communication Being one of the original founders of the Western Union Telegraph Company Ezra Cornell created a fortune for himself. By cutting down the time needed to contact another person has greatly increased the rate of new technologies as scientists are able to share their ideas with one another
  • 4. Cornell Founded in 1868, Cornell University is no one of the top notch Ivy League schools. It has grown to teach approximately twenty-thousand students each year. Cornell brings brilliant minds from all over the world to Ithaca. Cornell and his philanthropist ways have also created a local library that is used by all of Ithaca
