  2. 2. Youth<br />Daniel Boone was born on October 22, 1734, in Pennsylvania.<br />He was the sixth of eleven children. <br />As a youth, Boone spent the majority of his time hunting.<br />
  3. 3. Soldier<br />During the French and Indian War, Boone served with the British. <br />Boone married Rebecca Bryan, in 1754.<br />Boone acquired a living, during this period of his life, as a hunter. <br />
  4. 4. Kentucky <br />On September 25, 1773, Boone packed up his family to establish the first British colony in Kentucky. <br />Boone also participated in Dunmore's War, which took part in Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky.<br />
  5. 5. Boonesborough, Kentucky<br />Richard Henderson hired Boone to blaze the Wilderness Road. <br />In doing so, he blazed his road to the Kentucky River. <br />After that, he created Boonesboroughand Harrodsburg, in 1775. <br />
  6. 6. American Revolution<br />This brought a chance for the Indians to get back at settlers, since the British would ally with them. <br />By 1776 the majority of Kentucky people had either left Kentucky or had moved into one of the fortified towns made by Boone<br />
  7. 7. Boone’s capture<br />In February 1778, Boone was captured by Shawnee Indians. <br />He was later adopted into the Shawnee tribe, but escapes back to Boonesborough.<br />
  8. 8. Death<br />Boone died on September 26, 1820.<br />
