Held annually in August, the Middlesex County Fair celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2013. The Milltown Grange founded the fair in 1938 to replace the Flower and Craft Show, and in the fair's first year, admission was 10 cents, and the event raised about $140. Over the years, the fair added buildings and events, including soccer and football fields used by the community. Situated in East Brunswick, New Jersey, the fair has an association that also supports the local community. The Middlesex County Fair Association offers scholarships to high school students and donates money to local organizations. During the week of the fair, the organization hosts a special day in which children with disabilities enter free and a charity challenge to raise funds for other non-profits in the area. Tyler Kelly volunteers at the fair, collecting and selling tickets, an activity he has done with his family since he was 10. As a graduate of Lehigh University, Tyler Kelly recently interned at Helios Solar Energy LLC, where he assisted with the construction and management of solar panels.
