  • PD should be ongoing, relevant, timely…Tech in 20 attempts to do two things: keep discussions quick and to the point…allow participation on staff’s own time
  • Tech in 20 sessions are offered in person on Tuesday afternoonsSessions are also recorded and posted to a website for later viewingThe goal is to make sessions available to anyone who wants to learn…whenever they want to learn
  • Sessions can be planned for what ever level staff needsPowerPoint 101, email, setting up hardware…
  • …all the way to the latest Web 2.0 toolsThings like Delicious for social bookmarkingK12Online for the latest in Technology in EducationGoogle Docs for shared, online document/spreadsheet/presentation creation
  • Free tools like Google Sites which allow Word Doc like editing to create a webpage make hosting the information easyLive streaming services allow you to broadcast audio and video direct from your computer.Webcam can be purchased for under $100 to allow you to record your sessionsWe did an Interest survey of approximately 25 different tech ideas to get a feel for where people wanted to start
  • uStream.tv is one of the most popular servicesLivestream.com works well and has software that allows more options but is very resource intensiveJustin.tv offered a free upgrade to an ad-free site for Educational use
  • We have to remember what our elementary teachers taught us…That sharing…whether it’s about tech, differentiated instruction, summarization, foldables, anything…
  • Is the key to making our profession more powerfulTeachers need to stop thinking of themselves as the creators of content, and instead be curators of the excellent content which is out thereHow will you start sharing today?
