  • 3. The Sun• The sun is one of billion stars in the solar system.• The sun is the closest star to earth.• The sun rotates once every 27 days.• The sun is 109 times as large as the earth, and is 330,000 times heavier.• The sun is 15 million degrees Celsius.
  • 4. Mercury• Mercury is closest planet to the sun.• It is the eighth largest planet.• mercury has only been visited by the Mariner 10. it flew past 3 times and it was to close to the sun to get a clear picture of it with the hobble space telescope.
  • 5. Venus• Venus is really earths twin!!• Venus and earth are similar in size and mass.• Venus is only 650 KG lighter than earth.• It takes Venus 243 days to make a full rotation.• It takes 224 days to orbit the sun.
  • 6. Earth• Earth is the only planet in the solar system to have all 3 states of water, Solid, Liquid, and Gas.• Earth is nearly 5 billion years old.• Earth is the only planet not named after a mythical God in the solar system
  • 7. Mars• Mars is the fourth planet from the sun.• Mars was named after the roman god of war.• The diameter of mars is 4,221 miles.• it takes 686.97 day to go around the sun.• Orbital speed 53,865 mph.
  • 8. Jupiter• You would die unless you had a highly sophisticated heating system and it is made of gas.• Jupiter would be to cold to go on because it would be -100 degrees Celsius to -180 degrees cold.• Its the biggest planet in our solar system.
  • 9. Saturn• Saturn is the second biggest planet but its the lightest.• It is about 1377598464 million KMs (856 million miles) away from the sun.• It is 29.46 earth years to complete 1 year on Saturn.
  • 10. Uranus• Orbit of Uranus is 2,870,990,000 km.• It was discovered by a man called William Herschel in March 13, 1781. He found it by using his telescope.• Uranus has only been visited once by a spacecraft named the Voyager, on January 24, 1986.
  • 11. Neptune• The orbit of Neptune is 4,504,000,000 km.• Neptune has only been visited once by the Voyager 2, on August 25, 1989.• Neptune is the last main planet other than Pluto.• the diameter of Neptune is 49,532 km.
