    3. 3. <ul><li>Day 1 Birkbeck College and British Museum </li></ul><ul><li>SSAT general introduction to the Diplomas </li></ul><ul><li>Wandsworth EBP team’s experiences of the Diploma </li></ul><ul><li>Head of Education at British Museum introduction to key history of the museum as a public institution </li></ul><ul><li>10 groups of 15 – 18 students of mixed subject specialism, led by one PGCE tutor and one LOL Specialist Adviser to explore one Unit of a Diploma and use the galleries, archives, IT facilities and BM staff to plan a SOW. </li></ul>

    8. 8. <ul><li>Evaluation of 2008 – 9 Student Comments </li></ul><ul><li>Strengths: </li></ul><ul><li>“ Good first day for inspiration and very informative for our project”. </li></ul><ul><li>“ Building Schools for the Future provided a very good insight into public building planning issues and the roles of personnel involved”. </li></ul><ul><li>“ Specialist Line of Learning Adviser was very knowledgeable, informative and clear with excellent resources - would recommend to use him in the future.” </li></ul>
    9. 9. <ul><li>Suggestions for Development : </li></ul><ul><li>“ Two days may have been long enough in one placement, two different placements would be valuable.” </li></ul><ul><li>“ It would have been useful to have more time in the classroom with pupils earlier in the year .“ </li></ul><ul><li>“ It would be very beneficial to have a 2/3 day hands on skill building course to increase knowledge of construction and building.” </li></ul><ul><li>“ It would be good to have an opportunity to see other Diplomas in action for comparison.” </li></ul>
