  1. Brian Based Learning or Should I say Brain Based Learning
  2. The Brain
  3. The Body
  4. The Brain Body Connection We need to engage both the brain and the body to get maximum retention out of what we learn
    • Hart (1983) called the brain
    • "the organ of learning."
    • Neuronal Patterns
    • Frequent & simultaneous excitation of
    • multiple pathways and patterns of neurons used will
    • create growth of new neuron connections ,
    • thus increasing the potential of the brain to
    • learn .
Contributed by James R. Lawson, 2001
  5. Our brain’s neurons grow and reorganize themselves in response to new learning experiences. This body-mind interaction is what stimulates brain cells to grow and connect with each other in complex ways . This is the structural basis of your brain's memory capacity and thinking ability.
    • Elasticity is the
    • basic mental
    • drive that
    • networks your
    • brain , giving
    • you cognition
    • and memory –
    • fluidity,
    • versatility , and
    • adaptability .
  6. Not only do we engage the Brain/Body we must also connect this with Different Learning Styles
