Presentation about my science/art projects for ESAâ more
Presentation about my science/art projects for ESA’s MELiSSA research group. I focus on Biomodd, the art project in which I try to amalgamate electronics and organic life into hybrid, semi-enclosed setups. I present both the first iteration in Athens, Ohio (2007-2008) and current progress of the second iteration in the Philippines.
MELiSSA (Micro-Ecological Life Support System Alternative) has been conceived as a micro-organisms and higher plants based ecosystem intended as a tool to gain understanding of the behavior of artificial ecosystems, and for the development of a future regenerative life support system for long term manned space missions (lunar base, mission to Mars). less
